Upcycled!

I've had this wreath sitting in a bag, stuffed into my gigantic tub of Christmas decor. It was not my first choice wreath for this project, but I will keep my eye open for what I have in mind.

Anyhow, here is my recreation!

Its Starting To Look Like Christmas!

We are already anticipating the arrival of Rodney, our Christmas Elf. We've heard through the grapevine that Rodney will be bringing a friend to take over Elf duty in the Pattison Household this season.

And speaking of Rodney, he made a surprise appearance yesterday while we were putting up our tree and other decorations! I was getting out the small white tree to put on top of our tv cabinet and he FLEW out of the box! He scared all of us! Apparently he was busy in the storage closet downstairs doing some prep work himself. Rodney heard us coming and jumped into the closest box he could find. He left last night and told us he still had a few loose ends to tie up before he comes back.

This coming Saturday, Rodney and his replacement (we haven't met him/her, so we don't know the new Elf's name) will be joining us for a North Pole Breakfast!

In other happenings...

After taking this picture, I tightened up the garland so it wasn't so saggy....its kind of sad looking in the picture above! This is our countdown to Christmas garland. Each mitten and jingle bell has a number and will be taken down at the end of the day. For each day, I've assigned a treat, small trinket, or activity for the day. I have high hopes of updating the blog daily to share with you what our family has been up to for the day.

I am busy trying to finish up a few things before our North Pole Breakfast this coming Saturday. I am in the process of personalizing a small mug for each member of the family. I purchased these at a second hand shop last week for a grand total of $2.50! I used a sheet of graphite transfer paper to trace the initial on and will make the initial permanent with a special pen and the oven.

I have several other projects to finish up this week and will be back soon to share! It is much easier to post pictures now that I can just take them with my phone and email them to myself!
